It all started at the intersection of enviromental dread and culture.
As a people that buy clothes, it isin't enough to know shirts are organic, eco-friendly or locally sourced, because in the end new clothes require the use of resources. We don't have to pollute more water. Why produce a new shirt when there are tons of shirts available in the world? Therefore, we need to create without waste and pollution.
We started experimenting with thrifted shirts and tie dyed with veggie leftovers. It felt right, it wasn't wasteful, and it correlated with all the things I had seen as a kid. My abuela was green before green was a thing. My great aunt, and my parents had always been people that respected the earth and frowned upon being wasteful.
So, Ragdom was born out of a need to be creative, a need for peace of mind, and a tradition to respect nature.
"As a creative I realized, the process of production is a choice and waste is not essential".
